Community

There is no mistake that the word unity is embedded within the word community.  It takes a minimum of two to make community and true, authentic community is evidenced by peace.  When we have community with each other, we experience harmony and peace within our relationship.  We are able to conqueror the Dark Forest together and grow as individuals and a couple as we overcome the challenges presented us.  By joining forces with another, we are forever altered as individuals as we empower one another to overcome difficult times, as well as rejoice with our successes.  Surviving the Dark Forest, experiencing adventure, and telling our stories is done best within community.  With the coming of this new year, we wish for you a community where peace and unity abide. 

TIPS FOR CREATING COMMUNITY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP:

• We can have Pseudo-community which is defined by a shallow connection with another.  To have authentic community, you are free to be yourself and accepted as such.  Sharing your feelings and needs, ensures the hope for true community.
• Differentiation, being your own self within a relationship, is required for a couple to operate at their optimum strength.  To know and express who you are is one of the greatest gifts you can give your relationship.
• Attachment theorists teach that difficult times are made easier when there is a partner by your side through thick and thin, better or worse, sickness or in health.  This commitment creates the safety and trust we as humans need to be able to overcome our Dark Forests.
